Kew House by Architect – A Sculptural Statement in Family Living

Kew House by architect Bojan Simic is a bold, design-led residence where form, light and lifestyle converge. This RAIA short-listed home unfolds across a dynamic split-level layout, centred around a striking poolside entertaining zone. Expanses of glazing, refined materiality and sculptural geometry define the home's identity—balancing intimate retreats with grand, open-plan living that celebrates volume, light and connection to the outdoors.

    Window Furnishings by Tiptop Blinds

At Kew House, Tiptop Blinds curated a complete, whole-home window furnishing solution designed to enhance the architecture, soften the scale of glazing, and elevate everyday living.

From the moment you step inside, S-fold linen sheer curtains in a soft grey palette flow seamlessly across virtually every window. These sheers were carefully selected to complement the home's minimalist material palette while introducing warmth and movement.

The impact is most dramatic along the east-facing, poolside glazing, where towering, full-height sheer curtains soften the strong architectural lines and filter morning light beautifully. Fully motorised, these sheers retract effortlessly at the touch of a button—transforming the space from softly diffused to completely open, revealing the spectacular outdoor entertaining zone in its full glory.

Living Zone — A Vertical Statement

In the main living zone, including the formal sitting room with its suspended fireplace, 6-metre-high cascading sheer curtains create a breathtaking sense of scale. These motorised void installations not only frame uninterrupted views of the pool—visible from almost every vantage point—but also become a defining architectural feature in their own right.

    Alfresco & Outdoor — Resort-Style Living

From the outdoor alfresco entertaining area, the effect is even more striking. Looking back into the home, the full-height, wall-to-wall sheer curtains create a layered, luxurious façade—blurring the boundary between inside and out, and reinforcing the home's resort-style aesthetic. An outdoor Zipscreen blind provides the perfect awning protection for afternoon sun.

    Master Bedroom — Layered Comfort

The master bedroom features motorised roller blinds with sheer curtains for both day and night privacy and light diffusion.

    Study — Soft Daylight Filtering

In the study, overlooking the leafy front aspect and distinctive circular architectural window, Tiptop Blinds installed Sheer roller blinds for soft daylight filtering and glare reduction.

Alfresco Outdoor Room — Year-Round Comfort

The alfresco outdoor room is further enhanced with blockout roller blinds, designed to control heat and glare while maintaining comfort when enjoying the fireplace, TV and poolside outlook—extending the usability of the space throughout the year.
