    The Malvern Project

    Back to Projects

A grand, double-fronted Edwardian set behind a lush, established garden—this home balances timeless street appeal with a carefully considered renovation. Tiptop Blinds' role was to honour the heritage façade while layering softness and function throughout the interiors.

    Timeless Appeal at the Façade

From the street, the transformation is immediate. Timber plantation shutters frame the period windows, enhancing the symmetry and charm of the façade while adding privacy and light control to both the master bedroom and the upstairs children's room. It's a classic, enduring solution—perfectly in tune with the architecture.

    A Soft, Seamless Living Backdrop

At the rear, the home opens into a light-filled extension overlooking the garden. Here, full-width S-fold sheer curtains create a calm, continuous backdrop across the living and dining space.

The height of the curtains was carefully set to the lowest ceiling point, ensuring a clean, uniform line that anchors the entire room while softening the natural light.

Refined Detail in the Formal Sitting Room

In the formal sitting room—rich with Edwardian character—detail was everything. Decorative ceilings, timber fireplace, and traditional proportions called for a more refined finish.

A tailored pinch-pleat sheer curtain complements the period features, sitting comfortably within the room's classic aesthetic.

    A Calm, Feminine Bedroom

Upstairs, a softer, more delicate moment. In the daughter's bedroom, a pinch-pleat sheer drapes gently behind the bed, adding texture, warmth, and a subtle sense of elegance—perfectly suited to a space designed to feel calm, feminine, and complete.
